Centurion PLC’s fisheries segment is managed through Centurion Fisheries Investments Pvt Ltd (CFI), a fully owned subsidiary established to support the Group’s diversification into one of the Maldives’ most important primary industries. Fisheries has long been central to the Maldivian way of life, supporting food security, livelihoods, exports, and the national economy. Through CFI, Centurion is committed to developing a responsible seafood business built on sustainability, quality, and international market access.
CFI focuses on sustainable Maldivian tuna and reef fish exports, sourced through traditional pole-and-line and handline fishing methods. These methods are widely recognised as environmentally responsible and help protect the long-term health of the marine ecosystem. Maldivian fishermen have used these sustainable fishing practices for generations, and CFI continues to support this heritage by working with fish caught through traditional methods only.
Our main product lines include chilled and frozen yellowfin tuna, skipjack tuna, and reef fish, processed and packed according to customer requirements. Fish is kept chilled in ice to maintain the cold chain from catch to processing, helping preserve freshness, product quality, and food safety throughout the supply process.
CFI operates with strict quality control procedures, including grading at the receiving point and processing under the supervision of quality assurance personnel. Its EU-accredited processing facility meets local and international hygiene and food safety standards, giving the company the flexibility to process seafood according to different customer specifications.
CFI supplies a range of premium seafood products for international buyers, processors, supermarkets, restaurants, catering companies, sushi suppliers, and sashimi markets. Products include:
Tuna loins and chunks are produced from selectively graded fish and are suitable for steaks, grilling, restaurant menus, catering use, sushi, sashimi, and premium seafood applications. CFI also exports bellies and other cuts based on customer demand, with all products processed and packed according to customer specifications.
CFI currently manages exports to Europe and the United States and is working to expand its market base into the Middle East and Near East markets. The company aims to work with niche and premium seafood processors to develop customised product lines suited to local tastes, market standards, and customer requirements.
With a focus on sustainable fishing, cold chain control, quality processing, food safety, and international seafood exports, Centurion Fisheries Investments represents Centurion PLC’s commitment to building a responsible and value-driven fisheries business in the Maldives.
